About this event

A brand new resource designed to help young people understand the world of online advertising, and how they can get the best experience from it, has been launched by UK advertising's non-profit programme, Media Smart, in collaboration with the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA) - the European advertising industry coalition, whose key aim is to empower consumers with information and control over their online advertising experience, and to offer companies the tools they need to be open, transparent and responsible.

They are delighted to invite you to a webinar showcasing the new educational resource which features an animated film. Hosted by Media Smart Chair and CEO of Omnicom Media Group UK, Dan Clays, speakers will include Chi Onwurah MP, Shadow Minister for Science, Research & Digital, Angela Mills Wade, Chair of EDAA and Will Gardner OBE, CEO of Childnet - who will also be talking about Safer Internet Day 2021 which explores reliability online. This will be refollowed by a Q&A session.

Young people are growing up in a world with ever increasing amounts of online advertising and this is particularly the case in the UK and more apparent during COVID-19. The new resource supports discussions around what is internet-based advertising, why it exists and how we can all best manage it (children and adults alike).
